Yesterday, March 27, we had the opportunity to visit the cabane à sucre, or sugar shack most popular of Quebec in Canada known as' The Goudrelle . " It all started last Thursday when 18, the directors of the school where he studied French, told us that they were planning an exit to the Monte San Gregorio where we could see the process through which the produces maple syrup or sirop d'erable . Taking into consideration that we would vacation that day, Silvia, Ahmad and I decided to buy a ticket to enjoy this exciting experience ... {Read and see all the photos }


We all gathered outside the school and three school buses were waiting to start the trip by one of the organizers would take about 45 minutes. It was at 9:30 when we left the city Montreal and at 10:15 we were actually arriving at the place called Erablière 'La Goudrelle' located at number 136 Ch Du Sous Bois, Mont-Saint-Gregoire, QC. I could not resist the temptation to photograph the huge row of school buses that had been used to transport hundreds of people from different parts Montreal bound for 'The Goudrelle'. After this brief photo tour of the exterior of the cabin, the first thing we did was go to breakfast. Within what I will call Erables house, there is a huge restaurant with capacity for I believe over 1200 people. The tables are huge and very small chairs. The space between diners and diner was too narrow. I noticed that I'm chubby dwarf, now imagine the people tall and stout as my friend Ahmad had to use the space to accommodate two people a little better. Here is a picture from inside the restaurant. In this second picture, you can enjoy the bar and dance area where later I saw many people dancing in unison as friends, family and fellow travelers, they took a cold beer, a glass of whiskey or the most ozados, a tequila on the rocks.
The menu was lentil soup, egg cake, ham and smoked pork rinds, potato breaded, sweet sausages, bread, sweet sauce, drink water or milk and dessert donuts, muffins, small apple pies, cookies and maple syrup. After breakfast, the first thing we did was visit a tiny little room or hall where they make maple syrup or sirop d'erable. There were several people near a furnace and various utensils used during the preparation of this famous colonial amber liquid called sirop d'erable. Having enjoyed our honey lollipops with snow, we start our tour around the cabin. We started to visit the small animal park where we could share a little of our time with a llama, goats, sheep and ducks. Here are the photos ... On one side of the animal park, is the base from where tours depart horse-drawn carriage. The cost is $ 2 Canadian per person and lasts only 15 minutes inside the forest. After several minutes, we began our hike through the forest of trees or maple Erables. Each year during late March and April, it is customary to collect the syrup from the trees by placing small containers for that wired every tree maple. A kind of tube is introduced into the bark of each tree and the syrup comes out slowly and falls into the containers. As days go by, people reviewed the containers and are withdrawn as has been calculated that all the syrup that the tree has produced. Subsequently, the syrup should be cleaned because I noticed that inside the containers, flies, spiders and other insects that get into the container. It is obvious that should strain the material basis for the syrup. Otherwise, do not return to eat lollipops honey or any other product of the hundreds that are made with the sirop d'erable. Ahmad, did not miss the chance to pose next to a container. And I tell you something, me neither. Here's the proof ... ascenco Our tour ran up the mountain covered with thousands of maple trees. I noticed that some trees had up to two containers. I suppose they are trees because of their age or size produces more syrup. While there in such a magical scenes, did not lose the opportunity for us to take some photos. We dream for a moment, to be the Top Models of the moment. Right there in the forest of Erables.
Everything around us was magical. Something like an enchanted forest. For some moments I thought I saw a couple of small gnomes playing the caverns adorned with stalactites . Frozen waterfalls, clear ice on the leaves of maple and huge rocks were part of the stage. As I figured would not believe me, I took some photos and see if now I start to trust me. Silvia and Ahmad, went to the top of the mountain. I returned for my elderly and my heavy belly, did not let me continue. The climb was not easy. Not for me that I had stolen the ham at the other tables and I had eaten two bowls of lentils. Not counting two slices of egg, pork rinds, two glasses of water and three tablespoons of honey. With all that in the belly, I chose to abandon the climb and began my descent through the enchanted forest. I meant the Erables the forest. Upon my return, I changed some routes and other landscapes I found I could not help taking photographs. My soul great explorer instantly took me to places of interest. Once I got to the bottom of the mountain and near the cabin again, I sought out the base where the paths motorisée balade. In reality it was just a John Deere tractor pulling a few cars where people were sitting and made a tour another route into the forest. I waited, and while a few minutes, came over to me the famous motorisée balade. A little more than 50 people and I, we got on and began our adventure from the maple trees. Something that struck me was to see that people in the cabin fully used because the maple trees when a tree reaches to a specified age or for some reason you get sick, demolish convirténdolo wood chunks or subsequently used in the kilns of the syrup, honey or maple sirop d'erable. Here are some photos I took on what I mentioned just a few seconds ...

Apparently the business model dedicated to understanding the process of making maple syrup and products, it has worked. I say this because I noticed that about this cabin, there were others involved in the same and in fact, almost had another trade front in progress. However, I saw that the cottage 'La Goudrelle' is the most popular because as you will see the first pictures of view, there were lots of cars and therefore within the establishment, hundreds of visitors. As you know, Canada is a country where multiculturalism is very noticeable. It is mainly in the province of Quebec and more specifically in the city of Montreal where you can see people from as far away as the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Afghanistan, China, Japan, Italy and many, many more. For shows, I leave the picture below a little girl who was on the same bus as us and whose origin is Russia. I took this photo outside the hut while his family sang a few songs in their own language while taking the sun and my head almost exploded because of the sleepless. In short, it has been a great experience where I learned new things and I've known elsewhere. Sites that I had not imagined before. I am very pleased to have finished the first level of French. It was a challenge that I accepted from the beginning and today I am pleased to see the results. Although currently I am on vacation, I will continue to explore with the objective of returning the following 6 April and the best prepared and better able to continue the second level of this language very interesting and useful in the province of Quebec, particularly in the city of Montreal, where they currently reside. For my part, all I can say and leave them with the pictures I took during the celebration. My sincere congratulations to all those who accompanied me during those six months at school and my complete and absolute gratitude to Professor Martha Street for their unwavering support and invaluable.
